How to Create a Windows 8 Bootable DVD

Whether you are looking to install Windows 8 on multiple computer or want to install Windows 8 on your Mac using Boot Camp, you would need to create a bootable DVD using the installer media. Here’s a step-by-step guide that will help you create a bootable DVD using Windows 8 ISO images. If your computer doesn’t have a DVD burner, you may create bootable USB flash drives as well using the same procedure.
  1. Download the ISO image of Windows 8 available at microsoft.com.
  2. Download and install the Windows 7 DVD / USB tool available at microsoftstore.com. It’s a free utility that is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

  3. Launch the utility and browse for the ISO file that you downloaded in Step 1.

    If you are creating a bootable DVD, use DVD as the media type else use USB device in case you want to turn your external disk or Flash Drive into an installation media.

  5. For this example, we will create a bootable Windows 8 DVD so let’s insert a blank disk and hit the Begin Burning button.
